7-Day Intimate West Kilimanjaro + North Wildlife Safari

Upon arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha) you will be met by The Habitat Adventures Travel’ representative and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha for overnight stay waiting for your adventures to start on the following day.

Early morning after breakfast you will be picked up by your private safari guide and head to Sinya in the western Kilimanjaro. A private concession of about 600 square km, bordering Kenya at Amboseli National Park, offers spectacular landscapes with magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido, and Ol Doinyo Orok, unique nature and cultural experience. Maasai “bomas” are sparsely scattered in Sinya, with a total population of no more than 2.000 people living in a huge area. They are spectacularly dressed and follow all the traditional ceremonies. This is a Community Conservation Project benefiting the Maasai of Sinya. Activities include game drives, walking safaris escorted by Maasai warriors, interaction with the local Maasai including participation in ceremonies if available.

You will be picked up by your private safari guide from western Kilimanjaro to Tarangire. The Park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forest. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet! After an extensive game drive in the park, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Early morning after breakfast at around 8:00am, you will drive straight to Serengeti National Park passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop at a viewing point has a built pavilion that provides a near 180° view of the Ngorongoro crater. Continue your journey around the crater and descend the other side, enjoying your free “African massage” on the bumpy road,. At the Naabi Hill entrance gate, you can walk to a viewpoint with spectacular views across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Hot lunch will be served either at the gate or en-route towards the heart of Serengeti with an incredible set up by your guide inside the bush. The Serengeti National Park is home to the largest concentration of wildlife than anywhere else on the planet. You will have an unlimited drive until in the evening where you will drive straight to your tented camp or lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast at your accommodation, you will continue with your game drive inside the Serengeti. After lunch you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area en-route, arriving in the evening at your accommodation in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Today you will depart early after your delicious breakfast to one of the Maasai Villages on your way to Ngorongoro crater. You will learn and discover about their culture and after that you will proceed to Ngorongoro crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five. It is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife safari sites in the world and an exceptional place to interact with people from the Maasai. On reaching the crater’s edge, the 20 km diameter caldera opens up before you in all its stunning glory and you will descend into the crater on an adventurous trail. This World Heritage Site is seasonally home to over 25,000 animals in including a wide range of birds’ species, hyenas and the endangered black rhino. Hot Lunch will be served at a picnic spot at the hippo pool and after that you will continue to explore the crater and drive to Arusha.
